COMMUNICATION
Communication is our most important and first step in our process. We use the SLACK app to efficiently communicate internally for each client project. MJD provides three updates per day including arrival/departure times, progress and goals, and images.
DISCOVERY MEETING
Thank you for considering Michael J. Design for your painting consultation. Our discovery meeting aims to understand your vision and requirements to create a tailored solution for your space. During the consultation, we will explore your preferences, discuss color palettes, and offer expert advice to bring your vision to life. We look forward to collaborating with you to transform your space into a personalized masterpiece.
FORMAL AGREEMENT
Our formal agreement will detail the scope of work discussed in our Discovery Meeting. We outline our schedule strategy, the MJD Five Step Process, paint and material costs, and insurance and payment requirements.
The MJD 4-STEP PROCESS
The MJD 4-Step Process includes our Protection, Preparation, Paint/Paper/Design, and Polish.
PROTECTION
Our first step is to protect your home. We use reputable and quality products. TRIMACO reinforced paper and Canvas Drop Cloths on your floors, 3M Plastic Sheeting on your furniture, appliances, cabinets, and vanities, and FrogTabe and Washi Painter’s Tape for precision.
PREPARATION
All surfaces are prepared properly for paint or installation. MJD uses BONDO and DAP wood fillers, DAP for caulk and sealers, USG joint compound and spackle, DeWalt and Festool HEPA dust extraction hand sanders and vacuums.
PAINT | PAPER | DESIGN
We use INSL-X primers, Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, Farrow & Ball, and Fine Paints of Europe Paints, Renner, Color Atelier and JH Wall Paints, and a variety of wall papers including Phillip Jefferies.
GRACO HVLP and Airless Sprayer, Purdy and Wooster products are used for high quality finishes.
POLISH
MJD focuses on maintaining an organized, clean, and safe environment during work and at the conclusion of each day. We keep dust to a minimum using our DeWalt and Festool HEPA dust extraction hand sanders; vacuuming numerous times a day. Upon completion of our project, we use a variety of approved cleaning solutions for all surfaces.
